Twenty generations ago, White Buffalo Woman came to the people.
She reminded them how to walk a holy path: to live in harmony, respect, honor and beauty with All Our Relations, the stones, the plants, the animals, the elements, the forces of spirit, and one another.
Before she left, she told them she would return at the end of this time, when she was needed.
“And needed she is,” says Brooke Medicine Eagle.
Brooke speaks of our time as one of intense reckoning, a passage the Earth and all of us are moving through.
For many of us, there is a sense that something is shifting.
The old ways of responding to the world may no longer feel sufficient. We may not know what comes next, but we can still ask a different question:
How do we want to meet the time we are living in?
With fear? Or with deeper listening, greater connection, and awareness of what connects us to one another and to the living Earth?
Brooke believes the teachings of White Buffalo Woman speak directly to this moment.

For some fifty years, she has carried the teachings of White Buffalo Woman and the ancient ways of women’s moon time.
In 2023, she taught Living White Buffalo Woman’s Wisdom with Wise Women of the World.
